Tom “Durrrr” Dwan is Back on the Winning Track at Full Tilt Poker

After taking a serious pounding at the high stakes online tables at Full Tilt Poker in November, Tom Dwan, better known as "durrrr " found himself with a bankroll deficit of more than $6.37 million. But in true warrior fashion, Dwan didn’t give up and staged an impressive comeback to end 2009. Taking little time to lick his wounds, Dwan took the Full Tilt Poker tables by storm in December and earned $2.66 million.

To end the year, Dwan turned his total 2009 deficit of a whopping $7 million in one totaling $4.17 million within about 36 hours left in the countdown to 2010.

The majority of the losses suffered by Dwan were thrust upon him by young and unknown poker player “Isildur1” who has now stamped his name deeply into the world of online poker, just by taking down Dwan in a massive way. With a much depleted bankroll, Dwan left the high stakes tables for a time and joined in such games as the $50/100 Pot-Limit Omaha tables, with a few forays in a few heads-up matches having higher limits. Then Dwan got his groove back and headed to the $300/600 and $500/1,000 tables on December 28th, to play among well-known opponents including Brian Townsend, Hac “trex313” Dang and Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies.

Starting out by playing some short-handed $50/100 Pot-Limit Omaha for about an hour, Dwan’s moved on the $100/200 tables ending up with a profit of almost $124,000 in just 214 hands. Moving up in stakes, he then sat down at a $300/600 Pot-Limit Omaha table. With only one other player at the table, Sahamies, heads-up play started and not long after, players Townsend, Dang, “rospodin,” Chau “La Key U” Giang, and Richard Ashby joined the action.

Dwan cleaned up and booked a win of $54,000 before leaving to go to the $500/1,000 heads-up tables, where he quickly proved that he was once again right at home. After a brief skirmish with Sahamies, he took down a $246,580 pot. When he decided to quit for the night, Dwan walked away from the tables with earnings of $730,000, after plowing through Sahamies bankroll for more than $550,000. It would most certainly be safe to say that the "durrrr" is back in the game and it will be most interesting to see how he fares in 2010.

Not only has Tom “durrr” Dwan made a big name for himself in the online poker world, but he has been a huge asset to Full Tilt Poker as well. There is no other online Poker Room where players can go watch such big-limit and non-stop action games, even if they can’t afford to play in them. Every time a “durrr” challenge takes place or he jumps in the poker arena to do battle, players flock to Full Tilt Poker to watch the high stakes action.

This is just another way that Full Tilt Poker has continued to provide their players with what they want. No matter if you are a micro-limit player with only pennies to wager, or a future big name with a fat bankroll - you can find the perfect game at the stakes you want at Full Tilt Poker.
