Play Hold’em With the Pros on Full Tilt
If you watch poker games or tournaments on television, you have no doubt seen the commercials for Full Tilt Poker. These commercials show the Pros in action and we are privy to their thoughts about their opponents and hands. Some of the Pros shown are familiar to anyone who follows poker, like Chris Ferguson, Phil Ivey and Jennifer Harman. But do they really play on Full Tilt, and if so can you play with them? The answer is absolutely YES.
If you are a curious cat, once you've downloaded Full Tilt Poker, you can go hunting for the Big Boys and Girls in the Hold'em games. See for yourself if these big names are really playing on Full Tilt, or was it just some advertising pitch? What you will find is, the hype is true, by playing on Full Tilt you too can play with the big dogs of poker.
While browsing around the Full Tilt Poker site, it is pretty easy to find the famous names that are currently playing. In the lobby, while scrolling through the games offered, you'll find games highlighted in red. That means a Full Tilt V.I.P. is playing on that table. When you view the player line-up for that table, the Pro's name will be highlighted in red as well, making it easy to spot them. If you want to learn more about that player, look in the "Our Team" tab for Friends of Full Tilt or Full Tilt Pros. There you will find a list and short bio of all the Who's Who that regularly play on Full Tilt Poker.
Just how many Big Names you will find on Full Tilt depends on what time of day you play. Since this "big name hunting" was done early on a Friday afternoon, it was a pleasant surprise not only to find some familiar names in poker, but the limits they were playing. Most average players expect the big dogs to be playing in the big limit games, which was not the case.
The starting point was the Hold'em games, where Chris Klecz was found playing in a $1/$2 No Limit (NL) game on the table bearing his name. Observe him play for a while, and you will see him chatting it up with the other players. Reading the chat between Chris, the players and observers, you can tell this is one nice, patient guy. He answers questions as seemingly silly as "how do I get on your table" to the serious ones like "how often do you play" all with the same friendliness. He also let everyone know he would be in San Francisco in March, and in Las Vegas in June, should they want to come meet him. He won over $200 in a few short hands, which may prove the saying "everyone wants to beat a Pro."
The next game highlighted in red was the $2/$4 NL Hold'em, where Rino Mathis, who has had two cashes at the WSOP, was playing. There was no chatting going on at this table, maybe because Rino was multi-tabling, so the next stop was a $5/$10 NL heads up match with Marco Leisy. The game was super fast, averaging 165 hands an hour, leaving no time for chatting. Marco was up over $400 in just a few hands and one player was on the list, waiting for his chance to play Marco.
To end this big name quest, the last table visited found Stuart Paterson waiting to start a $200/$400 Limit Hold'em game with an $8,000 chip stack. This is a game that would be fun to watch, it is always interesting to see how the Pros play big limit games, even if your bankroll won't allow you to take a seat in one.
What is most impressive about the results of this "big name" Hold'em search was the limits these Pro's are playing. It is nice to see some of them in games with small enough limits that the average player can jump in and mix it up with them. The next time you play Hold'em, go try your hand with the Pros on Full Tilt Poker!
