Check Out Full Tilt Poker’s New Cashout Tournaments

Where else but at Full Tilt Poker could you possibly find a tournament that will allow you to cash out either some or all of your chips prior to the end of the tournament? This is just another example of how Full Tilt Poker just keeps adding handy and helpful new features just for Full Tilt Poker players.

Cashout Tournaments generally follow the same rules as standard tournaments. However the difference is that each buy-in is split between a regular tournament prize pool and a Cashout pool. Therefore, players still compete for their share of the tournament prize pool, but also have the additional option of cashing out some or all of their chips even before the tournament has been completed.

So just how does a Cashout Tournament work? Whenever a player decides to cash out, the cashout amount that they choose will be taken from the Cashout pool. The Cashout value is based on both the starting stack size, as well as the tournament buy-in amount.

As an example, a Cashout Tournament having a buy-in of $20 + $2, would send $10 to the tournament prize pool and the other $10 to the Cashout pool. If the starting chip stack for each player in the tournament totals 1,500 chips, this makes 1,500 chips worth $10. During the tournament, players may choose to make partial Cashouts in 10% increments of their original stack size. In this case, a player may cash out as little as 150 chips, which is 10% of the starting stack of 1,500 and the value for the 150 chips would be $1. In addition, a player who increases his or her stack size to 3,000 could choose to cash out 1,500 chips and the value for 1,500 chips would be $10. A player with a chip stack size of 5,000 chips could choose to cash out 3,000 chips, with their total value being $20.

Cashed out chips are removed from play when a player makes a partial Cashout and if a player initiates a partial Cashout while a hand is in play, the Cashout will be shown as “Pending” until the hand is completed. When the hand is completed, the Cashout will take place unless the player’s chip stack has dropped below the amount requested, in which case the Cashout will automatically be cancelled.

The use of the full Cashout option allows a player to leave a tournament before it has been completed, and to take the full Cashout value of his or her chip stack. The player’s chip stack value is determined in the same way as a partial Cashout. Upon making a full Cashout during a tournament, a player is eliminated in their current place in the tournament. Therefore, if a player is holding 21st place and takes a full Cashout, they are eliminated from the tournament and have a finishing position of 21st place. The Cashout value of the player’s chip stack is credited to the player’s account and if the player cashing out has made it to a paid finishing position in the tournament, the prize amount from the tournament prize pool will also be credited to the player’s account.

Players may use the cashout option only until the tournament reaches the final table. At this time, all money remaining in the Cashout pool will be divided between the remaining players based on the current Cashout value of their chip stacks.

How cool is that? You don’t even have to place to get your buy-in back! It’s just another way that Full Tilt Poker maximizes the playing experience for their players. So log-in and check-out the cool new Cashout Tournaments today only available at Full Tilt Poker!
